General terms and conditions
The drivers license must be valid and held as a minimum for one year.
Minimum age of driver: 21 years old for car groups A and for groups
Minimum age of driver: 23 years old for car groups B, B', C, D, D' E, F ;
Minimum age of driver :25 years old for car groups G, G' ;
All the clients are obliged to carry a major credit card as a deposit.
Rental agreements for renting vehicles are composed in Greek and English language, where all conditions of rental and emergency telephone or fax numbers are mentioned.
Rental days are calculated on a 24 hour basis from the vehicle pick up. For over 2 hours delayed drop off, renter will be charged locally for an additional day.
Car models are according to original planning. However, delivery problems may force us to supply client with another vehicle in exceptional cases.
Replacement of the car in case of breakdown.
All the other conditions are per "General Conditions" of SPEEDY national brochure.
Free delivery and collection to/from the port/airport, or hotels within the town radius.
Traffic violations and fines incurred during the rental period remain the responsibility of the renter.
Ferrying the car is not allowed except with prior written authorization of the "Speedy Rent a Car".
Road assistance available 24 hours a day.
Cancellation fee
Charge 10% from total rental cost.
Minimum 3 days before your reservation date and time.
If you drop the car off late you will be charged an extra day.
If you drop the car off early than you will not be due any refund on the rental fee.
During the rental
RENTER assumes full responsibility to take care of the vehicle, to check its mechanical condition, the oil, water, etc, as well as the tires and the general vehicle`s driving condition.
Any repair of the vehicle by the RENTER himself or any other party designated by the RENTER is not allowed without prior consent of LESSOR.
Vehicle is not allowed to travel outside Greece or to be transported by ship or train, without LESSOR`s prior written permission.
Vehicle shall not be used:
To carry persons or property for hire.
Propel or law any vehicle, trailer or other objects.
In any race, test or contest.
For subleasing to a third RENTER.
Against the Greek law.
While RENTER or the driver or any additional driver are under the influence of alcohol, hallucinatory, drugs, narcotics or barbiturates.
By any person other than RENTER unless such person has been previously designated and authorized by the LESSOR in the space provided in the reverse side of this agreement. The RENTER has to accept the extra charges for additional drivers, as these cost are shown on the official LESSOR`S tariff.
To transfer or carry heavy luggage or objects, inflammable materials, staining or badly smelling goods, narcotics, explosives, arms, munitions, etc.
To transfer or carry illegal immigrants or non immigrants or to operate illegal acts.
Insurance
Collision Damage Waiver (C.D.W.) :
Liability for damages to the rented vehicle can be reduced, for category ( A ) for the first 400 euro, for category ( B,B', C ) 500 euro, for category ( D,D',E,F ) for 650 euro and for category ( G,G' ) for 1000 euro, the rest money pays our insurance.
Full Damage Waiver ( F.D.W. ) :
The above money from the C.D.W. can be waived from the time that you take the F.D.W. and you are covered for all the damage from the insurance. For category ( A ) you pay 5,85 euro per day, for category ( B, B', C ) 5,85 euro per day, for category ( D, D', E, F, ) 8,80 euro per day and for the category ( G, G' ) 9,00 euro per day.
The below mentioned are not covered by the C.D.W. or the F.D.W. insurance. Mechanical and underneath the vehicle damages as well as damages on the tires and interior space and windows. No insurance covers all this if you have a Greek Traffic Law violation with the car or in the case this was driven on unpaved roads.
Accidents
In case of accident or other incident ( tire, theft ) etc. RENTER or any additional driver`s are responsible to follow the procedure as set out below:
Do not accept any responsibility or fault for the accident against third parties.
Obtain names and addresses of eyewitnesses or of the driver of the car involved in the accident.
Call the Police.
To contact LESSOR by phone, fax or by any other means.
Obtain all relevant information ( including photos ) from the third party or parties.
To fill within 24 hours of the accident or incident, a written report at any of LESSOR`s nearest branch offices and to provide LESSOR, with any documents or information may have, in case of vehicle`s loss or theft.
Renter shall within 24 hours notify the police in written.
